Hello, friends. During this hard time, some of you may find yourself bored at home surrounded by the news of the pandemic and how bad the government is dealing with it. So I have gathered some free e-books for you to kill your time and cheer you up!
These are my recommendations based solely on my interest. If you have anything you’d like to share, feel free to leave a comment or two.
1. Albert Camus’s The Plague

A story about a city, infected by a deadly bubonic plague brought to human by rats. What time is more suitable to read this book other than now?
Here’s Kindle version, with free audio book using Audible Trail: Link
2. Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments Series

This series is perfect, if you’re looking for some fantasy romance that can help you escape the reality. With a lot of twists in the plot and forbidden romance, I believe your days of self-quarantine won’t be boring anymore!
Here's where you can get it: Link
3. Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and The Sea

A story I find suitable for a situation where you’re home-alone thinking about fish. This book is short, you can finish it within a day, but I’m sure it’ll leave some impressions for several days.
Read it if you’d like to experience sea fishing while self-quarantine, and tell me what you think. Free E-book is available:
4. Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

If you’re into surrealism, you might find this book entertaining. Though I’d not recommend this one if you’re not familiar with Murakami’s writing style, I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a book that can occupy your time for several days.
If you’ve read it, let me know what you think, and how do you interpret it. Here’s an amazon link where you can find a free audio version using Audible Trial: Link
5. George Orwell’s 1984

A book about an authoritarian state, in which, at my second time reading, I think the story is depressingly similar to reality.
Feeling angry at the government? Me too! Let’s read this book again and find some more quotes to put on our Instagram stories. You can find the free e-book version here: Link
6. Plato’s Euthyphro

A short piece about Socrates, written by Plato. At a point of your life, I’m sure you must’ve heard of these great philosopher’s names. Work out your brain by reading this! It’s short and suitable for this time of boredom.
It’s free, and this site also has many free philosophy books: Link
That's all I'd like to recommend for now. Feel free to leave any comments!
